It’s an honor and privilege to serve as the 3rd President of the Community C.A.R.E.S. Foundation, Incorporated (CCF) effective January 1, 2019. I am deeply grateful and humble to the CCF Board of Directors and membership for electing and providing me with this opportunity. The Community C.A.R.E.S. (Community Advocating Reaching Everyone through Service) Foundation, Inc. is a (501(c)3 nonprofit organization and is the fundraising entity of Chi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. The CCF was established in 2014 to carry out the mission of the foundation. The mission of CCF is to facilitate the building of strong and viable communities that we serve through charitable giving. We seek to empower these communities to achieve lifelong successes and improve their quality of life through human and educational resources.
As the newly elected president of CCF for the next two years will continue close collaboration with Chi Tau Omega Chapter President, Mrs. Melva Henderson, who is also, the newly elected Vice-President of CCF to ensure scholarships, beneficial and viable programs of the foundation and Chi Tau Omega Chapter remains paramount in our serving communities. I am also extremely proud to be working alongside hard working women of CCF (Chi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.), and supporters like yourself for making it possible to donate over the years more than $130,000 plus in scholarships to deserving high school students in Newton and Rockdale counties. Additionally, CCF continues to be a financial supporter of the Newton County ML King Scholarship awarded to students of Emory University, Oxford, Georgia.
I am delighted to announce Community C.A.R.E.S. Foundation board members and membership has embraced and will champion our theme “Connecting and Building Relationships Through Service Excellence’’ to forge partners, sponsors, contributors, donations from corporations, various industry foundations to help support our fundraising efforts. With the generosity of our supporters and partners financial support, as well as providing invaluable resources of sharing knowledge and giving of time to help further CCF’s goals will be unmatched and long lasting in our communities. Let me also take this time to thank all our past supporters for your financial support and services provided to CCF. We encourage you to continue to support CCF initiatives and programs.
We remain steadfast and focused on ensuring the highest quality of college preparatory of life through Ivy Prep, a college-prep program designed to prepare students in grades 6-12 to meet the academic and social challenges of college life. Our fundraisers and your generous support and contributions will allow us to continue soaring above and beyond to galvanize new horizons and expand our reach to make meaningful and positive impact on our younger generations and future leaders.
